Here's
something of the breathtaking experience
of being in the presence of Geddy Lee,
Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart and their
music on a memorable live performance
for the first time in our country
is, hopefully, expressed in these photographs.
The Brazilian Leg of this tour was comprised
of 3 shows in 3 major cities: São
Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Porto Alegre.
An unforgettable year then.
Unfortunately I had no digital camera
at that time so, although we were very
close, our fixed wide-angle camera could
only do its best to capture the moment.
If you'd like to see better quality shots,
head for the other, fan-type websites.
As you probably know by now, this is not
simply a fan website. Instead it is a
website dedicated to a certain type of
view and work and that is why we admire
Rush and present this humble tribute to
them. There's also a dedicated section
here,
if you care to investigate a little further
on what I have to say about them. So Catch
the Spirit, Catch the Drift ...and enjoy!

We were quite close
though these wide angle shots don't do it
justice and then someone said a light rain
fell off and on throughout that memorable
concert, but we didn't notice while Geddy
came our way...
Here (above) Geddy
and Lifeson are playing a creative and fab
acoustic version of Resist
My only grievance with
this show was I felt the sound was not what
you would expect for a RUSH concert and
the stage could have been more elaborate
and refined, on par with what we are used
to seeing in their other concerts around
the world. A pity really. With music and
content such as this, one would always expect
a matching setting throughout, maybe it's
only me...
No, something hasn't
gone terribly wrong up there! There were
flames such as these alright and Neil is
at his drumkit!
Be sure to check
out the new Vapor Trails DVD with the
Rio de Janeiro leg of the concert.
Time didn't Stand
Still and sooner than I thought, it was
over, though it wound its way for more
than 2 hours! A strange feeling of emptiness
crept over me when everything winked out
and they were gone. I know many felt that
way for different reasons, but most of
all because I think nobody wanted something
so special and rare to end.

This is goodbye then, the actual farewell
scene by Geddy. We sincerely
hope it will not be for long this time.
